Practical Information

Oslo is the capital of Norway, and is located in the innermost part of the Oslo Fjord. What to do? What to wear?

Many people see Oslo as the winter capital rather than a summer destination. Nevertheless, Oslo is just as much a summer city. A bustling life on the fjord and in the city's parks tells of inhabitants who take advantage of the summer for all it is worth.

As we say in Norway, there is no such thing as bad weather; there is only bad clothing.

Thanks to the Gulf Stream, which brings temperate water from the Gulf of Mexico, Oslo's climate is milder than our northern latitude would suggest.

Wlcome to Oslo

Many people see Oslo as the winter capital rather than a summer destination. Nevertheless, Oslo is just as much a summer city. A bustling life on the fjord and in the city's parks tells of inhabitants who take advantage of the summer for all it is worth.

More than half of Oslo is covered by forests and parks, making Oslo a green city in the summer and a ski destination in the winter.

The compact city centre is easy to explore on foot, by bike or electric scooter, and an efficient public transport system makes the entire city accessible.

The city abounds with cultural events. Oslo is a real festival town, and can tempt with everything from music to food and children’s festivals. No other city in Norway has as wide a selection of restaurants as Oslo.

Here you will find everything from exciting street food and traditional Norwegian dishes, to world-class gourmet restaurants. The city is constantly growing - new neighbourhoods are appearing and old ones are getting developed and transformed. 2020 will be an eventful year for Oslo with the opening of two new cultural institutions: The new Munch Museum and Deichman main library in the exciting neighborhood Bjørvika.

Welcome to us, enjoy discovering your Oslo!
